We are extremely excited to be bringing back our Artist Talks for the first time since February 2020 and to be back in Bristol for the first time since 2009, where we will be joined by the multi-faceted producer, DJ and promoter Bruce, who we originally had booked for a session in April 2020. Bruce has been a fundamental force in the continuing output of the pioneering label collective Hessle Audio since his 2014 debut. Since its inception, Bruce has been also a close affiliate of the Timedance label, where he’s continued to expand his sound, along with Livity Sound and Hemlock.For those new to CDR, the Session includes an in-depth, production focussed interview with Bruce where we'll go deep on his career and creative process. Then, after the interview, there will be a chance for any aspiring producers in the audience to have their work in progress tracks played on the club soundsystem.
Bruce's hyperactive and surreal humour allows him to recreate the process of converting experimental abstraction into exhilarating energy when he’s performing as a DJ. He further explores his own marriage of heartfelt music and daft humour via his monthly Noods Radio show, ‘Get Loose! With Bruce,’ coyly lassoing together various sonic phenomena that inspire his music.
He has recently dipped his toes into the world of promotion, putting on his own 'Get Loose' parties at Bristol infamous 'Dare to Club' venue, with past guests such as Laksa, Peach and Ossia (to name just a few). Bruce's nights aim to bring 'together all the best things about soundsystem/club culture in a big loop of love to create maximum positive vibes for the dancers and all those involved' and he therefore enforces a 50/50 gender split to ensure a safe and inclusive dance floor at his events.

This event is free, although we do encourage everyone who can afford to donate £5 to CDR to do so we can continue producing events like this that are accessible to everyone regardless of financial limitations. CDR is a registered Community Interest Company, meaning we invest all profits and surpluses back into our own projects and community.
