About Karisma
Karisma’s story originates in western Sydney in 1970 when Peter Paige (bass singer formerly of The Graduates in 1959) created his exciting vocal arrangements of well-known love songs from the 1940s, '50s, '60s and '70s for the young quartet. Karisma performed regularly in Sydney clubs and television talent shows. After a hiatus of about 40 years, band members got together again and Paige (then in his 70s) began arranging songs specifically for them, including many of the songs performed by the original Karisma. Today, two of Karisma's original lineup with two talented new members continue to showcase Paige’s ingenious body of work, which forms Karisma's repertoire and underpins their unique sound. Truly a labour of love.
Here's what others have to say about Karisma's recent performances:

"Your performance at Balmain that night was outstanding, more than just complex harmonies, but heavenly waterfalls of sound. A night to remember. Simply magic." Graeme Ford, Sydney musician
"Karisma dazzles me with the richness and tightness of their harmonies. They paint from a huge palette of sounds and do it beautifully. Great music for the head and the heart." Christina Mimmocchi, Sydney choir director, singer/songwriter and member of the trio, The Third Voice
"Truly singers of renown, Karisma is a vocal quartet offering sublime jazz repertoire spiced with delightful harmonic twists." Felicity Andreasen, Sydney performance consultant
"What I found that was so delightful about Karisma were the stunning 4-part jazz harmonies (not easy to do) as well as the arrangements. I remember thinking how lucky we were to have such a great vocal jazz quartet sing for us in little old Bundanoon." Siobhan Flattery, Bundanoon resident
