About the Speaker: Dr. Charles Siegel attended undergraduate school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and then trained in pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas City. Further training was in adult and pediatric allergy and immunology at the University of Kansas Medical Center as well as Children’s Hospital in Kansas City. He then practiced allergy in the Kansas City area for a 37 years before his retirement in 2018. He is a clinical associate professor at the University of Missouri @ Kansas City school of Medicine and was also interim chair of the Department of Allergy at Children’s Mercy Hospital in the mid 1980s.
He has been involved as an investigator in numerous clinical studies, published over 20 peer review articles and has lectured in his field extensively throughout the United States. He has been a long term fellow of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), chairing many committees including two 5 years terms as chair of the CME and Continuing Professional Development. He received The Distinguished Fellow award in 2003 and the Distinguished Service Award in 2013, both from the ACAAI.
Over the past decade he has become actively involved in the Naples community currently organizing a monthly medical education seminar for the Men’s Cultural Alliance. Other interests include officiating USA swimming where he holds a national referee status. He is a devout Kansas City Chiefs fan over the past 45 years.
