Speaker: John Psaras
Topic: Syria After Assad: Will There Ever Be Peace in the Middle East and What Will the New Chess Board Look Like from Here?
The Middle East's geopolitical landscape is constantly evolving. The fall of Assad has weakened Iran's influence, while Israel has made tactical gains against groups like Hezbollah. The region's balance of power is shifting, but it's too early to tell if these changes will lead to lasting peace or further conflict. Come Dine and Discuss the complex possibilities!
About the Speaker: John Psaras has 25 years of engineering and top management experience, with Allied Chemical and Monsanto and is the recipient of the 1982 Chemical Engineering “Vaaler Award”. He spent an additional 25 years in managing and consulting in nuclear materials, nuclear waste, nuclear and environmental safety with the US Department of Energy (DOE). He represented DOE internationally and is the recipient of numerous meritorious awards.
Since retiring in Naples, in 2012, he has become a member/Board member of several educational and literary organizations, where he lectures, and is a past member of the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee (CCLAC) and currently the FGCU Emergent Technologies Advisory Board while pursuing his avocation in Archeology.
John Psaras holds B.Sc., Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK and an MBA from the University of Richmond, VA.
