New year, new adventures; why not make this the year to try something bold and exciting?Curious about roller derby? No prior skating experience? No problem! We wholeheartedly believe that anyone can learn to skate and thrive in roller derby with the right dedication and effort. If you're ready to commit your time and energy to something exhilarating, we're here to help you roll into this new journey!
Ready to get started?
STEP 1: Attend orientation (off skates)
Thursday January 29th, at 7pm at Tri-Township Activity Center in Troy, IL. We'll give you an overview of our organization, its history and culture, the sport, and how the next few weeks will work as well as fit you for required gear (AS AVAILABLE). This should last about 45 minutes. Feel free to stick around, ask questions and observe a team scrimmage.
STEP 2: Come see whether being a member of Crush is for you! For $45 a month, we will teach you roller derby basics and help you understand the sport more. All practices are held at Tri-Township Activity Center, Troy, IL.
Key Highlights:
- NO previous skating experience required!
- Must be 18+ to join
- You DO NOT need to have knowledge of roller derby
- We teach you how to become a skating athlete
- If you are joining as a potential Ref, we do NOT require $ for you to attend
- Proof of primary health insurance (please bring card or photocopy with you)
- A signed waiver and release of liability upon entrance to the rink
- Attire suitable for exercise
