Come join your local mushroom club on Saturday, February 28th for an evening of mushroom education and mycological mingling. We will have microscopes, mushroom books, and mushroomers from across the Cape and surrounding region. Come make friends that you can forage with when the snow melts! And, yes, there will be light bites. The event is family friendly and open to all. Doors open at 4:30PM. The evening will culminate in a presentation from Nathan Wilson, CCMS president and founder of mushroomobserver.org, at 6PM. Nathan will talk about the results of our DNA sequencing efforts from this past year. This was the club's first foray into sequencing different mushrooms that we collected across the Cape, and it was a great first step toward better understanding our local fungal diversity. Come see what we learned!
