CCMG Specialty Class 4: Mushrooms! How To Start and Maintain Your Own Mushroom Garden
Peek into the world of small-scale homegrown mushroom production! Learn the basics of mushroom growing on and in different mediums. This class will have hands-on learning where we will experience inoculating locally harvested logs. Participants will come away with information on how to start their own mushroom production, reliable sources for obtaining supplies, and a chart for understanding the best match of tree medium for mushroom spawn.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor conditions.
Please bring a notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes.
Location: Carroll County Master Gardeners CORE Demonstration Garden; Weather permitting, this class will be held in our CORE garden high tunnel. Should conditions be unfavorable for accessing our CORE garden, the class will be held at the Carroll County Extension Office, Rm A/B. Participants will be notified via email by 5pm Fri. March 6th should the location be moved indoor. In event of severe weather, the class will be postponed and rescheduled for a later date.
