The Coffee County Democratic Party invites you to join us for our monthly Future Forward Saturday on September 13th from 10 am to 12 pm. This will be a special Future Forward Saturday, because for the first time we will be hosting our very own CCDP Town Hall. As you may have heard, last month we packed TN Senator Janice Bowling's August town hall. We got the word out, came prepared with research and facts, and gathered roughly 40 attendees to overflow the Coffee County Administrative Plaza's conference room. We asked Sen. Bowling tough questions, pushed back on inadequate answers, educated her on a variety of things, and demanded accountability. As a result, she did what GOP politicians around the country are doing: she cancelled her remaining town halls.
And so, the Coffee County Democratic Party is going to host a town hall of our own.
During the second hour of this Future Forward Saturday, from 11 am to 12 pm, we'll host the CCDP Town Hall, with leaders, candidates, and politicians from both sides of the aisle answering questions from you, the People.
Guests so far include Democratic party candidate for the US House or Representatives Victoria Broderick and TN Democratic County Chairs Association's Congressional District 4 Chair Kelly Northcutt, along with more invites to follow. We've also extended invitations to Republican officers TN Senator Janice Bowling, TN Rep. Rush Bricken, US Rep. Scott DesJarlais, and Republican challenger Tom Davis. Join us for an informative open discussion with local and state officials representing Coffee County.
Before the town hall, hear from CCDP Chair Mike Stein about all of the new things that the CCDP is working on, engage with our officers, give feedback on how we can improve, and find out ways to get involved. Through these efforts, we hope to grow the party here in Coffee County, while helping those in our community.
We will also have an inspiring and educational keynote from our guest speaker, Chris Sanders, the Executive Director of the Tennessee Equality Project (TEP) and the Tennessee Equality Project Foundation.
The Tennessee Equality Project advocates for LGBTQ rights across the state through lobbying and legislative advocacy at both the state and local levels. The TEP foundation educates and empowers Tennesseans through workshops, voter registration, and public policy analysis. TEP also organizes major events like Boro Pride and runs programs like Tennessee Open For Business to support inclusive workplaces. Together, they ensure LGBTQ voices are heard and represented in government.
