The Community College of Baltimore County invites you to the official launch of the Virtual Reality Dental Hygiene Lab, a groundbreaking advancement for the School of Health Professions and the first program of its kind in the United States.
This new VR lab introduces an immersive, hands-on learning environment that strengthens clinical preparation, improves student confidence, and supports the growing demand for well-trained dental hygienists across Maryland and the nation. It reflects CCBC’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and future-focused workforce development.
The dental hygiene field is evolving quickly. Employers are seeking graduates who are comfortable with emerging technologies and prepared for modern clinical workflows. By integrating virtual reality into our curriculum, CCBC is creating a learning experience that is more interactive, more consistent, and more aligned with the expectations of today’s healthcare environment.
This initiative also helps attract students who may not have considered the dental field before. The addition of VR makes learning more engaging, more relatable, and more aligned with how the next generation prefers to learn. It also lays the foundation for future simulation-based training across other health programs at CCBC.
The VR Dental Hygiene Lab is part of a grant-funded project designed to expand access to high-quality training tools. It is led in partnership with Black Meta Agency, Gleechi, and the NYC School of Dentistry, who helped bring world-class simulation experiences into a community college setting.
