About this Event
Canadian Community Arts Initiative proudly invites you to the book introduction of The Blessed Curse, the debut English novel by the iconic poet and arts personality Sarmad Sehbai. This event is organized in partnership with the Progressive Writers Association Canada. The novel has been published by Mawenzi House Publishers.
Sarmad Sehbai, is celebrated for his profound contributions to poetry, theatre , and TV plays, and the critically acclaimed feature film Mah e Mir. He has published five collections of poetry. A volume of his collected plays was published by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
His career also includes his role as Producer, Playwright, and Director at Pakistan Television Corporation. Among his many honors, he is a recipient of the Pride of Performance Award, conferred by the President of Pakistan.
At this literary celebration, Sarmad Sehbai will present The Blessed Curse and read excerpts from his work. Esteemed speakers Prof. Prashant Keshavmurthy and Arshad Bhatti will share insights about the author and his book.
The Blessed Curse will be available for purchase and signing at a special price of C$ 15
