45th Annual CCA San Antonio BanquetMay 2, 2024, Freeman Coliseum Exposition Hall
Mark your calendars! The CCA Texas, San Antonio Chapter 45th Annual Banquet is set for Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Freeman Coliseum Exposition Hall, immediately behind the Joe & Harry Freeman Coliseum. Your support plays a huge part in the success of CCA San Antonio and CCA Texas, and your attendance includes your STAR registration and CCA membership!
Our San Antonio Chapter annual banquet was one of the largest net $ contributors to CCA Texas in 2023, and we expect this year’s May 2, 2024 banquet to be even better! Doors open at 5pm for your enjoyment. Don Strange of Texas will cater our event with their south Texas cuisine, and as always, we will have an open premium bar. We will have door and table gifts for all guests, and major raffles will include: 21’ Dargel bay boat with 150 hp Mercury motor & tandem axel trailer; customized Kawasaki Mule & trailer; twin kayaks & trailer, twin e-bikes; residential zero mower & utility trailer, gun raffles, $10 raffle and silent auction.
As always, the highlight of our evening – beside the great food & drinks - is our Live Auction! This year’s line-up will include some of our old standbys….as well as some new adventures. Look for opportunities in New Zealand, Argentina, Costa Rica / Panama, Africa, Cabo, Canada and perhaps others. Closer to home, we have multiple hunting and fishing opportunities throughout Texas, as well as New Mexico, Louisiana, Montana, Florida, Tennessee and Colorado. And if you are interested in a family vacation, how about…The CMA Awards, Kentucky Derby, Indy 500, Kentucky bourbon tour, Western United States adventures… and yes, even a wine tour or two to keep the spouse happy!
The San Antonio Chapter is a huge contributor to the CCA Texas conservation efforts throughout the state of Texas. Funding dollars the last several years have included:
• $3,650,000 for nearshore reefing on the Texas coast
• $2,215,000 for oyster restoration & creation of oyster recycle & monitoring projects
• $10,129,000 for 47 habitat funding projects in Texas
• $5,000,000 funding earmarked for future oyster habitat restoration and creation
