From the lush landscapes of Brazil to the nomadic traditions of Kazakhstan, these films offer powerful insights into the human impact on the environment and the collective efforts to create a sustainable future.

Bauxite

Brazil is one of the most dangerous countries for environmentalists. The rural community of Belisário holds the country's second largest bauxite reserve, right below one of the most bio-diverse areas in the world: the Atlantic Forest. The small community was shaken when the beloved Gilberto, a Franciscan Friar, received a death threat followed by the lines: "you've been talking against mining way too much".
The Journey: The Future of Kazakh Nomads

Bayan-Ulgii. At the foot of the Mongolian Altai Mountains lies a region where Kazakh nomads live. While some families still continue their traditional nomadic lifestyle, others have migrated to the cities due to desertification. How do the parents and children feel and live in the traditional way of life that is being lost? I lived with them and explored their current situation.

A Good Neighbor

A Good Neighbor is a short documentary about a Latina single mother’s fight against racism and climate change as she campaigns for city council in one of the nation’s most polluted zip codes.
Anthropocene

Bittersweet reflection about human impact on the environment through the child’s eyes. A film full of honesty, truth and a little bit of naivety. It showed people that there is really easy and obvious way to treat our planet well. The helplessness of children in nowadays world where they will have to live enhances the infantile character of the movie.
O Discurso de Txai Suruí/ The Speech of Txai Surui

Country of Origin:Brazil
The memorable and historic speech by Txai Suruí at the opening of COP-26: UN Conference on Climate Change, in Glasgow, Scotland (2021). Txai Suruí is a Brazilian indigenous activist leader, of the Paiter-Suruí ethnic group. She was the only indigenous person in Latin America and the only Brazilian to speak at COP-26. Her speech was made in front of more than 100 heads of state and echoed across the planet. The film was shown the following year, at COP 27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, in a panel in which Txai Surui was participating.
