CBCity is partnering with Access Consultant Morwenna Collett to bring you an accessiblity workshop for Youth Sector Workers.
About this Event

Join Access Consultant Morwenna Collett to learn more about accessiblity and inclusion for children and young people. Morwenna is a proud disabled woman and carer of a young person with disability.

This session is tailored for Youth Sector Workers to help you provide more inclusive services and supports.

When: Friday 28 June 10am-12pm

Where: Bryan Brown Theatre - Lansdowne Room 1

Who: Youth Sector Workers in CBCity

Register: FREE

This training will be split into two components:

  • Understanding disability including the background and context for disability inclusion, legislation, standards, definitions, models, language etiquette, disability types, access requirements and intersectionality.
  • Putting inclusion into practice and learn more about reasonable adjustments, universal design, planning for inclusion, combatting bias and assumptions, sharing case studies and real world examples and how to best support young people with access needs.

Bring all your access questions and come ready for an interactive and engaging discussion.

Lunch will be provided.


Accessiblity:

Bryan Brown Theatre is located 400m from Bankstown Train Station and 230m from bus stops along The Mall.

There is a continuous accessible path of travel to the venue, with no steps or obstructions. Parking, including accessible parking, underneath the building via Rickard Rd. There is also street parking avaliable.
