CB1 open mic is back on Sunday 7th September at the Town and Gown Pub & Theatre - Cambridge. since we’re hosting a guest poet this month, entry will cost £5 on the door. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to CB1 in recent months so if you’d like to read, you’ll have to get in quick because spots are limited! Bring a poem or just come to listen to some fantastic poets from around Cambridge. Can’t wait to see you there at 18:30!Our special guest this month is Alison Binney! Alison Binney is an English teacher, who works both at The Netherhall School and on the PGCE English course at the University of Cambridge. Her poetry pamphlet, 'Other Women's Kitchens', won the Mslexia Pamphlet Competition in 2021, and her debut full collection, 'The Opposite of Swedish Death Cleaning', was published by Seren Books in April this year. She has recently featured on Radio 4's 'The Verb' and also on an episode of the Declutter Hub podcast, and in May 2026 she will be Writer in Residence at Gladstone's Library.
