About the Authors:

CB Mason, a lover of dystopian tales and strong female characters, writes to inspire and entertain. Drawn to complex worldbuilding, she recognizes the written word's potential to drive social change. For her, writing serves as a means to explore life's uncertainties and to examine resilience and self-discovery.

CB grew up in Boise, Idaho, where she attended Boise High School. Many of her favorite Boise locations are featured in the Forged series—places like Lucky Peak Reservoir, Table Rock, and the Boise Train Depot. After graduating from Linfield College, her life has taken many turns, including a yoga instructor and a chicken farmer.

When she's not writing, CB enjoys time on her stand-up paddleboard, practicing yoga, or wondering where her kids will end up living (hopefully somewhere sunny so she can visit often). A firm advocate of latenight writing sessions, weekend getaways, and the Oxford comma, she lives near Portland, Oregon, with her husband.

Alison Ames is the author of It Looks Like Us, a Junior Library Guild Gold Selection pick, and To Break a Covenant, a Colorado Book Award finalist. Her most recent book is The Devourer. She lives in Idaho with her wife and a lot of animals.
