PDX's newest Grateful Dead tribute band, Caught Dead Handed, is headed over to The White Eagle Saloon for two full sets of your favorite dance tunes.
With veteran experience and young talent Caught Dead Handed strives to perform faithful renditions of favorite Dead tunes. Our heartfelt jams, tight transitions, and powerful energy, make for dance-worthy shows not to be missed. We hope to see you on the dance floor at our next show, feeling good and having fun.
Lead guitarist Daniel Stumpf (24), assembled the band. His passion and dedication to the music of the Grateful Dead is unquestionable. His guitar style is on point and he even looks like a young Jerry. Rhythm guitarist Sam Brewer (27) met Daniel in college. He’s super chill with a strange affinity for Bob Weir’s guitar style. He gets very animated when the band is rocking.
Drummer Ron Rocci (70), Bassist Brian Straus (52), and Singer Stevie Vee (43), are all lifelong Deadheads with established connections to the local music scene. Ron’s experience provides a solid foundation and his drum solos are like a symphony. Brian’s bass is funky and in-the-pocket holding everyone together and driving the music forward. Stevie’s Pigpen rants are full of soul and his positive attitude is infectious. Keyboardist Summer Tupelo (44) recently moved from Virginia, she is all about organic improvisation and letting the music guide the band.
