The session will be held in Seton Hall. Trish Lokmer will begin by sharing the Seven Principles of Catholic Social Teaching and more explicitly what Catholic Social Teaching says about Immigration.
Anne Dugger, Executive Director of the Catherine McAuley Center, will explain the current (and future) landscape for immigrants and refugees. Having worked with this strategically undervalued population for nearly a decade, Anne will offer some insights into what "mass deportations" really mean for immigrants. She will also provide a brief overview of what "immigration status" means when referring to refugee, immigrant, SIV, TPS, and undocumented. The Catherine McAuley Center is committed to serving the community and Anne will explain the ways in which CMC assists, and will continue to assist, this population through the potentially fraught landscape unfolding.
