Phillabaum Poetry Award.Carter’s poems are living spells, threaded with the sacred and the ecological, the everyday and the mythic. In this luminous collection, her words become incantations of connection: tracing the breath between the human and the more-than-human world, calling forth the wisdom of beetles, hubcaps, cut onions, and creekwater runes.
