About this Event
The Cathedral Concert Series proudly presents Knoxville Sinfonietta: Choir & Orchestra in a special Advent showcase, Gloria Advent.
Under the direction of Danny Griffin—who has conducted professionally throughout Russia and the United States—this concert brings together three nationally award-winning choirs: Seymour High School, Karns High School, and The Christian Academy of the Smokies. Together, they will present the beloved Vivaldi Gloria as part of this Advent celebration.
The orchestra features both expert instrumentalists and advanced scholarship students, creating a rich, dynamic collaboration. The Knoxville Sinfonietta will also present the North American premiere of Amore Mio Aiutami by Pierro Picconi, featuring soloists Ruth Edwards (violin) and Korenna Hodge (harp).
The concert, held on Pearl Harbor Day, will include a special tribute honoring our military following the intermission.
The second half of the program features an award-winning handbell choir, lively orchestrations of familiar seasonal favorites, and a joyful Christmas carol sing-along with the audience.
Admission is Free: Seating is Limited.(doors open 1 hour before concert). Please Respect our Sacred Space: No Food/Drink/Gum.
