In the intermediate-experimental analog and alternative photography series, we continue the exploration started in the basic analog and alternative photography series. To enroll you are supposed to have a basic knowledge about shooting, developing and printing film in the dark room, B&W and Color, the use of a large format camera, and the basic alternative techniques as the anthoptype and cyanotype. It is organized in an experimental format, which means that we offer a wide range of possibilities, a menu so to say, from which you choose the techniques you want to explore further. There are workshops on any technique you want to learn and master. Some are on the edge of the present state of the field, while others offer a basic solid knowledge to build further upon. In the last sessions, we will combine those techniques to create your own contemporary analog, alternative and experimental artistic photography.Depending on the interest and demand of the participants the following topics can be dealt with:
- The artistic mind and nature of photography: a rehearsal of the basic course and an overview of possibilities to visualize and create your own expression.
- Techniques bases on the camera tool: pinhole camera and soft focus
- Techniques related with silver halide crystals, since they will come back several times in later techniques, liquid emulsions, lumen print and tintype
- Special films and film treatments : infra red photography and souping
- Alternative ways of printing in the dark room: split grade printing and lith printing
- Post-visualization in the dark room: Sabattier-pseudo solarization, mordançage and toning prints
- Duotone and multi-colored cyanotype
- ... any other alternative and analog technique participants are interested in.
Enrollment for 40€ (10 sessions) - 60€ for non-students).
