About this Event
Spartanburg County Foundation and Spartanburg Academic Movement are partnering to facilitate quarterly Catalytic Learning Sessions to deepen the capacity of place-based nonprofits serving Spartanburg County. The first session is focused on what it means to be a place-based partner.
A place-based partner is a network of people or organizations in the same geographic area who work together to change systems, improve community outcomes, and achieve shared goals. This could inclide schools, residents, government, faith-based institutions, or other non-profits. Participants will be intoduced to the concept of Place-Based work. The facilitator will: 1) spotlight the national efforts in place-based partnerships; 2) discuss success planning; and 3) consider the context of place-based work and partnerships in Spartanburg to include a panel discussion from local place-bassed partners.
