What is Yin yoga?Yin yoga is all about bringing your body back into balance much like the well known yin and yang. Unlike other styles of yoga, in which various standing asanas (poses) are performed and perfected in flow, yin is more about bringing flexibility into the body and blood circulation to the joints while being held and supported by the mat and/or bolsters.
During these sessions you will stretch your inner connective tissues between your muscles and fascia through long held (2 to 4 mins) passive floor poses. The predominant focus is on the lower part of the body (hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine) resulting in calm relaxation as you soften into these deep stretches.
