HIKE DESCRIPTION:Join Susie & the group for a more challenging sunrise walk up Castle Hill.
Starting at Walker St steps, we will make our way up to the junction of Cudtheringa and the Goat Track via Maiden Hair and the Goat Track. Descending down Cudtheringa to the road we will then make our way up Westies and Scramble to the summit of Castle Hill for a short break and a few photos. We will then make our way down the goat track looping back to Walker Street steps.
The views are spectacular, stretching far and wide over the city, Magnetic Island, Pallarenda and around to Mount Louisa and Mount Stuart. Don't forget the camera!
Conversation and laughs will be a plenty.
The walk itself will be at a slow / steady pace, taking quick breaks as needed and I’d expect it take up to 2 hours depending on group dynamics.
The event is suitable for those of moderate and above fitness levels & capabilities.
The views of Townsville, Maggie Island and surrounding areas on sunrise are something special!
