HIKE TITLE: Castle Hill - Iron Bark via Walker St steps loop.(Walker St / Maiden Hair / Triandra / Iron Bark / Road / Summit / Goat Track / Maiden Hair / Walker St)
HIKE DESCRIPTION:
Fancy a slightly more challenging casual fitness building walk at Castle Hill?
Join Susie & the group for a sunrise walk up to the summit of Castle Hill followed by a cuppa at the YWAM cafe if time allows.
We will meet at the Walker Street Steps at 5.30 am.
Please bring a head lamp.
This trail will lead around Maiden Hair towards West End Cemetery, connecting on to Triandra and then up Iron Bark to the road. We’ll then proceed up to the summit for a quick break and photo opportunities before descending the goat track and back to Walker Street via Maiden hair.
As we loop around the hill you will enjoy all the views of our beautiful city, Magnetic Island and surrounds, so don’t forget the camera!
The trail is steep, uneven and rocky in sections.
The walk itself will take ~ 1.5 hours depending on group dynamics.
The event is suitable for those of all fitness levels & capabilities.

Other Information:
The walk itself will be at a slow / steady pace, taking quick breaks as needed and I'd expect it to take up to 1.5hrs depending on group dynamics.
The event is suitable for those of all ages, beginner, intermediate and advanced fitness levels & capabilities. The track is undulating and loose underfoot in places, so make sure you have appropriate footwear.
The views of Townsville, Maggie Island and surrounding areas on sunrise are also something special, so don't miss this one!

• Hiking boots / trail runners or comfortable runners.
