Abstract: An audio-visual retrospective deep dive into the Cassini-Huygens mission. Exploring how the mission came together, the history and people behind it, how the spacecraft was built, the problems the team had to overcome and what we found out about the Saturnian system.
Bio: Studying under some of SA’s best creatives, Nathan completed his Advanced Diploma of Advertising and Graphic Design in 2006 and has been working in the design industry in some capacity ever since.
Now with nearly 20 years of experience in graphic design, corporate identity, digital design, retail environments, signage and print, Nathan has had a quite varied career in the design world and can almost guarantee that you have encountered some of his work before, with many small businesses around Adelaide displaying art and design work that came out of Nathans brain.
Currently the Studio Lead within the Foodland Marketing Team, Nathan heads a small team of designers who produce a monthly magazine, weekly catalogue and host of digital promotional material that can be found in and around the various Foodland stores all over South Australia. Moreover, he also runs a small side business called ‘Image is Everything’, where he can work with clients and on projects outside of Foodland.
Nathan fell in love with all things space when he saw Star Wars as a child and received a Hubble Telescope Calendar from his year 4 teacher, Nathan is now deeply interested in the intersection of art and science. This passion led to a career highlight of having the opportunity to work with the SACE board to develop diagrams and layout work featured in South Australia’s Year 12 Exam content.
Having taken Paul Curnow’s ‘The Night Sky’ course a few years back, Nathan saw a great opportunity to work on and develop graphics for the planetarium dome to improve his skills as an animator, which has led directly to the presentation you are about to see.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PLANETARIUM SESSION. However, special public attendance requests will be considered for this particular session. Please email Paul Curnow at: [email protected]
