Brady Wease and Scott Moreau are putting on “Cash & The Killer” at Malcolm Brown Auditorium at Shelby High School on Saturday, October 18th at 7 p.m. Profits from the concert will go to support the Performing Arts Department at Shelby High School. Brady is a 2012 graduate of Shelby High School who, among his many memorable performances, was part of the 2009 cast of "Lone Star" that won the North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC) State High School Play Festival. Also a graduate of UNCG Theatre, Brady is known around the country for his portrayal of Jerry Lee Lewis in "Million Dollar Quartet." Scott Moreau has joined him onstage for that show several times as Johnny Cash and some patrons may remember him from his show at the Don Gibson Theatre. This will be a night of Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash music accompanied by "Million Dollar Quartet" veteran, Sam Jones. Joining them onstage will be Andrew Wehmueller, SHS Orchestra Director, on bass, and Tabian Collins, SHS Band student, on drums.
Looking forward to the upcoming show, Brady posted on his Facebook page, "If you love 50’s rock n’ roll and country music by some of the godfathers of that art form, then come out and party with us. It has been more than a decade since I performed on the SHS stage and it will be a very special experience coming back to a place where a first fell in love with theatre and music. Would love to see some familiar faces from behind the keys!" For more information about the concert, contact Dan Treharne at [email protected] or by calling 704-476-8325.
