Dennis J. Leise hails originally from Western PA, but for the last 25 years has called the Chicago area his home. He carries the baggage of his rural upbringing, small-town angst, suburban-cultural-wasteland boredom, big-city wit/savvy and current post-apocalyptic confines of Unincorporated Gary, Indiana to life in his songs that are borne, not from situations, but from ideas, practically ensuring his commercial obscurity. Dennis will make you laugh and he'll make you wonder. His recent album, Fightstarter, was released in 2023 and is available on Bandcamp.
Dag Juhlin has been a presence in the Chicago music scene since forming The Slugs in the early '80s. The band produced three albums of muscular, melodic rock for long-running local indie label, Pravda Records. By 1992 he joined the nomadic musical smorgasbord of Poi Dog Pondering, when that group relocated from Austin, TX, and enjoyed a high profile run and multiple album releases. In 2016, Juhlin formed Sunshine Boys with Jackie Schimmel and Freda Love Smith, and the result was a pair of widely acclaimed albums of urgent, soaringly tuneful pop. He's also lead guitarist for Sonic45, featuring White Sox radio announcer Len Kasper. Next year he'll return to the road with actor Michael Shannon for a series of club dates performing the music of R.E.M. Dag also keeps busy with a pair of far-flung cover bands, Expo'76 and Courtesy Patrol, while also occasionally performing as a solo artist.
