(TO BE UPDATED CLOSER TO THE EVENT. MOSTLY THE SAME AS THIS PAST EVENT DETAILS.)
It is time for the Native Plant/Seed Share at Cascades Library!
Invite your friends! If you can't bring items to share, that's OK!
--- Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Sterling, VA
***NATIVE PLANTS*** are best, since these are the plants that support our local birds, bees, butterflies, insects, and ecosystems. Bring as many native plants or seeds as you can! We will remove any invasive plants from the swap -- plants like Vinca (periwinkle), English Ivy, Rose of Sharon, and others. The invasive plants may be easy to share, since they spread quickly in a garden -- but they also escape from gardens and take over wild areas, displacing the native wildflowers! You may not have known your plant was invasive, so we mean no offense if we ask you to take certain plants back home. Let's learn together. We hope you will enjoy adding native plants to your garden!
