About the Speakers
, is the owner and principal consultant of Shea Business Communications, where she helps companies connect with their employees and contractors in creative ways that elevate performance, manage change and risk, and foster safety cultures. Shea has more than 25 years of award-winning experience in corporate communications and media, including 11 years with engineering and construction giant Bechtel. Shea began her corporate communications journey in Tulsa at BlueCross BlueShield of Oklahoma, served as IABC/Tulsa president, and won the chapter's President's Award in the early 2000s. Shea holds an MBA from the University of Tulsa and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas. She also earned a certification in digital marketing from Rice University in January 2021. She is based in Houston and is the current president of IABC Houston.
, is CEO of Swing Communication, where she works with leaders to effectively communicate change to their employees. She has more than 25 years’ experience in internal and change communication and has been an independent consultant since 2018. She has been a part of more than 40 acquisitions, multiple capital projects such as Workday and SAP implementations for large global corporations and other large-scale business transformation projects. Lynn is an award-winning strategic communicator who is an active member of IABC and serves on the IABC Colorado board. Earlier in her career, she worked in internal and change communications for ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville and won the IABC/Tulsa President's Award in 2007.
Both Shea and Lynn earned their Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) certifications from the Global Communication Certification Council at IABC's World Conference in June. Together they have teamed up on several award-winning projects, most recently winning the IABC Houston Best of Division and Award of Excellence in Communication Research, and the PRSA Colorado Gold Pick Award for their communication audit work.
