Carve and Cook!

This October we’re inviting families to join us at the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen for a pumpkin cooking event!

Join us on Saturday 26th October to get creative with some spooky designs and carve some pumpkins - with no waste! As you carve, we’ll collect the waste products and demonstrate how they can be transformed into delicious food right there in the Community Kitchen.

Try some fresh pumpkin dishes and take home inspiration on how to utilise pumpkin waste in your own cooking. At the end we’ll judge the best carved pumpkin and the winner gets a meal of their choice from the Community Kitchen!

How it works

On Saturday 26th October, just bring yourself!

We will provide the pumpkins and carving tools - just make sure to supervise children.

Pumpkin carving will run from 10am-12pm.

We’ll then make some delicious food from your pumpkin’s waste and judge the best carved pumpkin!

About Bounceback Food

Bounceback Food CIC is a social enterprise fighting food poverty on multiple fronts. Since 2014 our Community Cookery School teams have been teaching people how to cook, running food bank drives at market events, helping people get jobs in the food sector and coordinating community meal drives that provide emergency meals for our beneficiaries.

Since 2014 we have taught 5,000+ people how to cook, including stroke survivors, young carers, food bank beneficiaries and elderly people living in sheltered accommodation. We have also secured 15,000+ donations to food banks and generated over 150,000 meals for people in need via our catering, community meal drives and cookery workshops.

Do I need to supervise my child/children during the carving?

Yes please!

Where is the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen located?

You can find us at Altrincham Market, on Central Way, opposite Everyman Cinema. There are plenty of parking options nearby, or we are a short walk from the Altrincham tram stop.

How will you cater for my dietary requirements?

Please list any dietary requirements or allergies that members of your family have when you sign up so that we can plan recipes accordingly.

I can't make it on the day - how else can I support your Social Enterprise?

There are lots of ways to support our non-profit organisation! You could:

- Visit our Community Kitchen on a different day, we're open Tuesday-Sunday 9am-3pm.

- Order cookbooks/merchandise from our online store.
