❗ WHAT IS BALLROOM?
Ballroom was created by black and latin trans women back in Harlem, New York at the late 1960s, due to racism they faced within the white pageant scene. Ballroom is an underground subculture by and for the BIPOC LGBTQ+ community and it is a competition where participants walk different categories in beauty, sex, fashion and performance.
If you are not from the community, please be mindful of the space you take. If you would like to walk/participate, learn and study the categories beforehand. If there's any questions, please contact the organizer and they will help you.

💎 WHAT IS J-FEST?
J-Fest is a dance festival that brings together people of all ages and is a place where creativity, art and dance become one. The main goal of the festival is to create a free atmosphere in which people with similar interests break barriers and find common lines of exclusion.
The first time the festival was born as a practical work at the Jõhvi Gymnasium in 2019 which made it to the whole dance festival in two cities - Jõhvi and Tallinn (Showcase edition, Battles, Vogue Ball and dance workshops)

Ballroom on maa-alune alakultuur BIPOC LGBTQ+ kogukonna jaoks, ning see on võistlus, kus osalejad esitlevad erinevates kategooriates ilu, seksuaalsuse, moe ja etenduse osas.
Kui sa pole kogukonnast pärit, ole palun teadlik ruumis olles. Kui soovid osaleda - uuri ettevalmistavalt kategooriaid. Kui on küsimusi, võta ühendust korraldajatega, kes aitavad sind.

💎 MIS ON J-FEST?
J-Fest on tantsufestival, mis ühendab inimesi igas vanuses ning on koht, kus loovus, kunst ja tants sulanduvad üheks. Festivali peamine eesmärk on luua vaba õhkkond, kus sarnaste huvidega inimesed murdavad piire ja leiavad ühiseid jooni.
Festival sündis esmakordselt praktilise tööna Jõhvi Gümnaasiumis 2019. aastal, millest kasvas välja terve tantsufestival kahe linna - Jõhvi ja Tallinna (Showcase'i väljaanne, võistlused, Vogue Ball ja tantsuworkshopid).
