Cartonnage, the art of box making - Cartonnage, y grefft o wneud bocsys

Details of session

Cartonnage is an ancient craft that can be found in many traditions. Boxes are covered in either fabric or paper, the boxes can be purely functional and simple or highly decorative. We will be using a technique developed by Claudia Squia of Colorways Art.

Materials:

For those in the UK we will be supplying the fabric (unless you want to use your own – in which case let us know), the wooden pieces, the cardboard pieces.

You will need to supply the glue – quite a bit of PVA is needed for this; a gluing brush and a reel of masking tape. Scissors, rulers and normal crafting supplies.

How it works:

We will detail any preparation work you need to do, a reminder e mail is sent 2 days before the session and the zoom link is sent 2 hours before the start time. If you have booked a kit (UK only) this will be posted around the 25th of the month before the session.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you can receive messages from Eventbrite, we have guides to using the app if you need them.

If we don’t hold your address we need you to send it to [email protected] before the cut off date for us to make kits. The cut off date is the 15th of the month before the session starts. No address = no kit.
