Cars for a Cause

Please come join us kick off what is hoped to be an annual event. The light focus is going to be an end of the year car show wrap up and the community coming together to enjoy a day out. The main focus is going to be raising funds and collecting food for local area food banks for thanksgiving meals for those in need. registration is by DONATION. be it non perishable food, grocery store gift card or cash. literally any donation gets you in. it all adds up in the end.
Anything with a motor and wheels that is show worthy is welcomed to show up. The registration fee is by donation. This could be some non parishable food, a gift card (for any amount, even $5-10) for a grocery store. (You can get food only gift cards at Walmart last I checked) and we will be raising funds during the event that will go 100% to the cause.
There's also going to be fire trucks, cops cars, tow trucks and hopefully some other things going on for kids and family to enjoy. If the weather is appropriate, Liberty fire department plans on bringing their tanker to spray off those who are interested.
There's going to be a 50/50 drawing for anyone to participate in. Cost per ticket TBD. There will also be door prizes for all cars registered. Must be present to win. That detail may change for next year. But for the first year, must be present to win.
Still working on getting door prizes secured but so far we have a four wheel alignment donated by Ford Tire & Service , a couple wash buckets from local parts stores, byesville napa has committed to donating a socket set. And we will see who else donates for the cause.
The earliest people can show up is at 8am. The event is scheduled to be over at 4pm, but please feel free to come and leave as you wish. After the awards announcement stick around and hang out or go on about your day.
The Prichard Laughlin Civic center committee and I are working together to make this event really pop, but please note this is the first year we're doing this so there will be a lot of things we do right, and some things we will get wrong. Any constructive criticism is welcomed. We will cut out teeth on this years event, and make it even better next year if all goes well.
We have at least one food truck that probably going to show up, but we would like one or two more. Please message me or text me if youre interested in showing up. If I understand Karen Boyer correctly, we're not concerned about charging the food trucks a spot fee the first year. Next year that may change.
I've been talking to Chris coka from NCFD, Tiny at CFD, Chief people's from CPD, Jeremy Hill at BVFD, Sgt Nick Sutterluety and Jamie at OSHP, Mjr Jeremy Wilkinson amoungst other community businesses and everyone is absolutely thrilled for this event to take off.
If I have left anyone off the list for those who are helping, please forgive me. There's been a lot of phone calling and texting to try and get this all together.
Even if you're not able to show up, please help by sharing this to your page. If you're interested in setting up something to help the cause or have an activity for kids to do, please get with me and we will see if we can get you in. This is an event thought you by myself and my buddy Dustin Warne , but ultimately the prichard Laughlin Civic center committee has the final say on what is and isn't allowed. So far Karen hasn't told me no on anything.
In the next couple weeks I'll be able to hand out hard flyers county wide as well as be able to collect any donations for those who are willing to do so.
Let's make this event as great as it can be this year, and make next year even bigger and better. Can't wait to see the community come together and raise awareness and contribute to those in need this holiday season.
