Carrie Kelley: Painting A Series In Soft Pastel (Six Week Workshop)

This six-week course offers those with some painting experience an opportunity to create a series of small works in pastel. Each week we will discuss a stage in the painting process with compositional considerations, suggested techniques and a demo. By progressing the paintings through each stage together, you will rehearse the stages of the painting process, face varied challenges that will improve your skills, and finish with a group of paintings that hang well together.
Materials fee $30 (to be paid to the instructor via cash/check/Venmo).

Carrie Kelley is an award-winning pastel painter who focuses on painting her surroundings. She earned a BFA in Painting and an MA in Arts Administration. She encourages self-expression because that's where compelling art comes from - the individual artist's interests, emotional attachments, aversions, and influences. Her love of pastel painting comes from the medium's practicality, versatility, and richness.
