About this Event

Don't miss the Carpe Librum in Adams Morgan Book Festival on Sunday, August 1 from 10am-5pm at the corner of 18th Street and Columbia Road NW (SunTrust Plaza)! Browse thousands of high-quality, gently-used books, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records - all on sale for under $6. Carpe Librum is a donation-based used bookstore benefiting the DC nonprofit Turning the Page.

There's something for everyone at this sale: children's books, teen reads, brand-new bestsellers in amazing condition, classic vintage hardbacks, and more!

Two awesome Adams Morgan bookstores will also be in attendance, The Potter’s House and Lost City Books! Be sure to visit their tables near the entrance of the book sale. The Potter’s House will be offering a selection of discounted books ($10-$12), new social justice titles (fiction and nonfiction), a collection of local books and gifts, games and puzzles, and Potter's tote bags and stickers! Lost City Books will be offering a selection of vintage scifi, pulps, and mystery books in addition to collectible and signed books plus Lost City Books tote bags and stickers!

Masks are preferred. Contactless payment available: payment via e-pay methods such as Apple Pay or credit card is accepted. Checkout will be no-contact and social distancing will be practiced during browsing. We look forward to seeing you there!

After browsing books and selecting your Summer reads, visit one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood, with more than 50 locations offering outdoor dining (or air conditioning) for your enjoyment!
