The Manchester City Library is proud to present Caroline Cook as she talks about her debut novel Tell Them to be Quiet and Wait, a fictionalized account of Dr. Hannah Croasdale, the first female professor to receive tenure at Dartmouth College. This program will be held via Zoom on June 9th at 7:00 PM.
Join us to hear Cook discuss this remarkable story of love, friendship, rejection, acceptance, and the challenges women through the decades have faced while navigating the male-dominated world of science and academia. In this program Cook will also talk about why this story needed to be told, and why she chose to tell it in such a unique way.
Caroline Cook learned about Dr. Croasdale while doing a fellowship at Dartmouth College and is a former Opinon editor of The Dartmouth. She currently works as a communications strategist in San Francisco and has written articles for Lady Science, McSweeney’s, and Ms. magazines. Follow her on Instagram at @caroline_e_cook
