Mountain View, Arkansas singer/songwriter Carolina Mendoza, dubbed The Voice of The Mountain appears for the first time in Springfield at The Shoe Tree Listening Room at Arrow Art Annex on Sunday, September 29 at 7pm.Doors open at 6 for this alcohol free, listening room concert. General admission tickets are $20, and available at @arrowcreativereuse.org and at the door. Parking is across the street, with accessible parking in the back.
Carolina Mendoza, singer and songwriter from Mountain View, Arkansas, has been mentored by generations of traditional folk music performers in her short time. Her nickname, “Voice of the Mountain,” was bestowed on her for her rich, pure tones. Carolina’s signature sound combines her traditional Mexican roots, a deep influence of country, bluegrass, Nordic folk, and old-time Ozark music.
Carolina recently appeared in Washington D.C. at The Smithsonian Folklife Festival as a featured artist for “The Ozarks: Faces and Facets of a Region.”
