Carnegie DaySaturday 5th April 2025, 1.00pm – 3.00pm
Join us for an afternoon of family friendly activities, as we celebrate 119 years since the official opening of Larne Carnegie Free Library in 1906!
Weaving
Did you know that Andrew Carnegie was the son of a weaver? Come along to our drop-in workshop, try some card weaving and watch a demonstration of traditional wool weaving on a handloom. This activity is suitable for beginners and children over 8 years of age. This workshop is brought to you by the Kathleen's Attic team.
Arts & Crafts
Enjoy arts and crafts activities with local artist Janet Crymble.
Teddy Bear Clinic and Doll Hospital
Dr Clare Bear will be in attendance at our Teddy Bear Clinic and Doll Hospital. If your teddy or doll needs a little bit of repair work or just a little TLC, call in and see if we can help.
Archaeology
Learn about the prehistory and archaeology of the Larne area, with artefacts from the museum’s collection. If you have collected any prehistoric flint tools from the area, bring them along to be analysed by an archaeologist!
This is a free drop-in family event. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone welcome!
