Join us Friday as we welcome Carmen Walker with Heartland for Children as our program speaker. Carmen, a dedicated foster parent and advocate, will be sharing her incredible journey and experiences with fostering and adopting children. With a background in Mental Health counseling and over seven years of fostering, Carmen and her husband have had the privilege of caring for over 20 children, adopting their oldest child through the foster care system.Currently serving as a Foster Care Recruiter with Heartland for Children, Carmen is passionate about helping children find loving homes in the tri-county area of Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties. Heartland for Children is a nonprofit organization committed to facilitating the placement of children in safe and nurturing environments.
In this heartfelt talk, Carmen will discuss the joys and challenges of foster parenting, the impact it has on children’s lives, and how you can get involved in making a difference. Whether you’re considering fostering, adopting, or simply want to learn more about the foster care system, this event is for you!
