Next Sunday, Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will be canonised by Pope Leo XIV. The day has been greatly anticipated due to the great devotion among the faithful. It is an excellent opportunity for us to learn more about the two new young saints!Acutis will be the first “millennial saint”. His life was entirely devoted to the adoration of the Holy Eucharist, which he promoted on a website documenting Eucharistic miracles. In 2006, he died of leukaemia at the age of 15.
Also for Frassati, the Holy Eucharist was the centre of his life. He radically dedicated his life to serving Christ in the poor. As an enthusiastic alpinist, he was also inspired to worship Christ in the beauty of the mountains. In 1925, he died of polio at the age of 24.
As usual, we will meet after the evening Mass at 7:15 p.m. in the parish hall for a fika. András and Mátyás will then give a talk on the lives and veneration of the two new saints. We will conclude with Compline at around 9:15 p.m.
