Carl has been honing his craft as a creative musician for over thirty years and is one Australiaโs most highly regarded jazz and improvising guitarists. He has recorded over twenty albums as leader or collaborator alongside musicians including Simon Barker, Louis Burdett, Kim Dong Won, Susan Gai Dowling, Sandy Evans, Stu Hunter, Bae Il Dong, Riley Lee, Roger Manins, Scott McConnachie, Bernie McGann, Matt McMahon, Lisa Parrott, Mary Rapp, Phil Slater, Scott Tinkler, and Cameron Undy.
This performance showcases a new set of original music, written during the hard Covid-19 lockdowns and inspired by his meanderings along the streets, open spaces, and waterways of the inner west. The trio features lifelong friend and collaborator bassist Cameron Undy and Alex Inman-Hislop on Drums.

Eora-based pianist Lauren Tsamouras and Muloobinba-based trumpeter Tom Avgenicos reimagine the music of legendary Australian/New Zealand jazz pianist and composer Judy Bailey. With Bailey no longer actively performing or teaching, this project aims to preserve and revitalise her legacy through contemporary rearrangements, reinterpretations, and electroacoustic adaptations of her work. A mentor and inspiration to generations of Australian musicians, Baileyโs enduring influence is central to the creative ecosystem of the Australian jazz community, and this project ensures her remarkable contributions continue to thrive.
