Join Emily Conway and Julia McGuigan for an afternoon of rest and exploration as we look together at the season of summer and our hearts, which can often feel full and overburdened during this busy time. We'll use group discussion, time alone, and art as we learn how to create balance in our emotions, minds, and spirits that will help us to find rest and enjoyment even in the midst of life's demands. Emily Conway is a writer, spiritual companion, and host of retreats, workshops, and travelers at her Airbnb, Sojourner House, in Omaha, NE. She received her training in companioning from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, GA and an BA and MA in English Literature from The University of Georgia. Emily’s writing reflects her belief in the utmost importance of the interior and intentional life. Her newsletter, A Thin Space, and other publications seek to articulate this experience in hopes that others will find her words to be companions on their own journeys. Julia McGuigan is an illustrator & educator living in Omaha, Nebraska. She recently completed her MA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art & Design & has 7 years of teaching experience in Omaha Public Schools as an Art Educator. Julia's artistic vision focuses on architecture, landmarks & places in our local community. Representing the buildings, people & shops of Omaha & other surrounding suburbs is a way to spread joy with others through her art. While running her studio & shop Julia also participates in local markets showcasing her art & hosts rotating workshops.
