About this Event
This therapeutic program is designed to help sons and daughters navigate the practical, psychological, and emotional issues that arise when caring for a parent with dementia.
The program aims to improve relationships and mental and emotional wellbeing. It combines education and strategies with deep listening, sharing, reflection and guided meditation. Participants will be challenged to reimagine the parent, themselves, and their situation in a supportive peer environment.
This program runs over 2 sessions:
- Tuesday 10 December 2024 from 09.30am to 2.30pm
- Wednesday 11 December 2024 from 09.30am to 2.30pm
Lunch will be provided on both day so please advise any dietary needs.
Suitable for: Adult sons and daughters caring for a parent with dementia. This program is not intended as professional education for workers in the health or aged care sectors.
This program is presented in small group sessions where you will have the opportunity to share your experiences, listen to and support others.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is free street parking within a 10-minute walk on Beck Street, Fernberg Road, Elizabeth Street and Baroona Road. • Metered parking – please note: you will need to download the Council parking app (Cellopark - https://www.cellopark.com.au/Site/) to pay for parking using a smartphone rather than feeding the meter or ticket machine.

If you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
