For the first time ever, Rara, the festival music of Haiti, will be coming to Portsmouth. The 15-piece Kandjanwou Rara band, an all-Haitian band from Boston, will bring the crowd alive in a fundraiser to benefit Life and Hope Haiti and its school in Milot, in northern Haiti. After that, DJ Cklokwize - aka the one and only Matt Jenson of Combo Sabrosa - will follow with Latin, Reggae and other favorite dance tunes. At 7 pm, visual journey to the school; 8 pm, celebrate the culture of Haiti with Kandjanwou Rara; 9 pm, dance to the tunes spun by DJ Cklokwize.
