Caregiving and Wellness

Come join us at Stone United Church for an insightful event focused on caregiving and wellness. This workshop is designed to help caregivers recognize and prevent caregiver fatigue. Whether you're a caregiver or interested in learning more about self-care, this event is for you! Can't make it in person? No worries! We'll be live streaming the event on Zoom for your convenience. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to prioritize your well-being!

Doors/virtual link opens at 9:45 am. There will be time for questions after the presentation. A recording will be available on the Rockwood Stone YouTube channel following the session.

Julie Martin Jansen:

My early years started on an apple and cherry orchard before moving into the small town of Simcoe Ontario. After High school, I went off to college and eventually ended up in Elmira in 1992. I’ve been married for 30 years, have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

I worked for Community Living for 29 years and was a Residential Manager for 20 of those years. In 2005, Community Living built a home specifically to support vulnerable adults at end of life. I was the Lead at creating and implementing their Palliative program, working with the person, their families, staff and the community.

I started with Hospice Wellington in June of 2021 as their new Rural Outreach Coordinator working to bring supports and services to the Rural areas of Wellington County. I wanted to continue my work focusing on helping people in their end of life journey, along with their caregivers, family and friends. In 2024 my outreach extended to the City of Guelph where I am creating new networks and connections to further bringing supports and services into the community of Guelph.

I appreciate the vital relationships that are the bedrock of the rural and city life and have created some wonderful networks and partnerships to help get Hospice supports into the homes and communities of Guelph Wellington.
