About this Event
Doors will open at 6:30, and the presentation will begin at 7.
We all have people in our lives that we are caring for in one way or another. For some, this caregiving may be all-consuming. It is important to understand that the root of caregiving is a deep love and commitment to those who are providing care. The caregiver holds a great deal of hope that through their efforts, those who they are caring for will return to some form of previous health and well-being.
Through participation and experience in the outdoors, and more specifically wilderness settings, we can, as individuals and communities, provide unique support to caregivers. By extending an invitation for an outdoor adventure, we offer an opportunity to reflect, listen without distraction, and care for those who give of themselves on an ongoing basis.
This will be an evening to view three of the films in the Caregivers series, which will be released in Fall 2024. Following each film, we will hear briefly from local experts in the field of caregiving, sharing their own experience and knowledge of what it is like to serve those struggling with illness, mental health, and the struggles that come with aging.
