Career Pathways in Spoken Word Poetry (Summerhall Arts x I Am Loud)

Join Summerhall Arts and I Am Loud for an afternoon of conversation, connection and career insight. This free event brings together artists, producers and funders to explore the many routes into building and sustaining a career in spoken word poetry in Scotland.
Across two short panels, you’ll hear directly from mid-career artists about the different pathways they’ve taken – from publishing to performance, workshops to multidisciplinary collaborations – and how wearing multiple creative hats can open doors for your own practice. The second panel brings together opportunity providers, including producers and funders, to discuss the platforms they offer and share practical advice on how artists can put themselves forward effectively.
With plenty of time for Q&As and informal networking, the session is designed to be both informative and community-building. It’s aimed at emerging artists in the Scottish poetry scene, but open to anyone interested in spoken word, cross-disciplinary practice and the wider arts landscape.
This event is FREE but ticketed; book tickets via https://www.summerhallarts.co.uk/event/career-pathways-in-spoken-word-poetry/
This event is supported by Creative Scotland.
