About this Event
If I say I want to progress, what if it all becomes too much? Do I need to pick, family or career? Those and about a million other versions are the kinds of questions we hear from clients ALL the time. And it’s understandable really when you consider the environment we’re in and the narratives we attach to having a family and a career, plus the value / lack of it that’s placed on bringing up children.
In this session we will look at:
- Dispelling the myths facing parents at any stage of their journey and career aspirations (this isn’t just about the window of returning after maternity, adoption, surrogacy, paternity or parental leave)
- The kinds of conversations you might want to have with your line manager / employer when it comes to changing career needs
- Connecting you with your definition of success and how that converts into career conversations
- Top tips on responding to stereotypes in the workplace
You’ll come away feeling empowered to have conversations in the workplace about the (wildly) different set ups of progression, ambition and squiggles that careers can take (whether we have children in tow or not!).
It’s a totally free session, no recording though - you have to be in the (virtual) room to get the full impact. There are other online resources available from Power of the Parent® if you can’t make it but still need the support, either on the Support Hub or Insta feed.
