Relational Wisdom: Going Beyond Emotional Intelligence – Relational wisdom (RW) combines the neurological insights of emotional intelligence with the theological insights of Scripture to create a practical theology organized into six key relational skills that can be applied in marriage, parenting and the life-changing interactions of a Care Net Center.

Objectives: Attendees will: (1) acquire a foundational understanding of relational wisdom (RW), which is a God-centered, biblically grounded and gospel-driven form of emotional intelligence that is being applied in churches, businesses, schools, nonprofits, police departments, and military bases around the world; (2) learn four simple acrostics (SOG, GPS, READ and SERVE) that enable them to turn the six foundational skills of relational wisdom (God-Awareness & God- Engagement, Self-Awareness & Self-Engagement, Other-Awareness & Other-Engagement) into life-changing daily disciplines; (3) explore practical ways that these gospel-based principles and skills can be applied in their marriages and with their children, with the staff, volunteers, directors and supporters of their Care Net Center, and, most importantly, with the women who walk through their Center doors in desperate need of someone who can help them get their emotions and fears under control, think through the long term implications of their decisions in a rational and biblically grounded manner, and make choices they will thank God for decades later.

Relational Peacemaking: Turning Conflict into an Opportunity – Women with unplanned pregnancies often face conflict with boyfriends, parents and advisors. The peacemaking principles presented in this workshop can help them reconcile relationships, resist coercion and build unity and agreement with the people who can support them in making life-giving choices.

Objectives: Attendees will: (1) learn a simple gospel-based systematic theology for resolving conflict (The 4 G’s of Peacemaking) that is being taught in churches, seminaries, ministries, nonprofits, businesses and military bases around the world; (2) learn give basic peacemaking concepts (Three Opportunities of Conflict, Progression of an Idol, Seven A’s of Confession, Four Promises of Forgiveness, PAUSE Principle of Negotiation) that have been used to resolves thousands of lawsuits, divorces, church splits, employment disputes and abuse cases; (3) explore practical ways that these gospel-based peacemaking principles and skills can be applied in their marriages and with their children, with the staff, volunteers, directors and supporters of their Care Net Center, and, most importantly, to help women with unplanned pregnancies to experience the forgiveness and peace that comes through the gospel and to use God’s peacemaking principles to seek reconciliation, peace and unity with the people who are seeking to influence or who may be impacted by a decision to choose life rather than abortion.

Seven Steps to Deeper Empathy – This workshop will show how to develop Christ-like empathy, which will enable you to read other people accurately, show genuine compassion, and minister in life-changing ways. These skills can enrich your marriage, parenting, ministry, friendships and, most importantly, your witness for Christ.

Objectives: Attendees will: (1) learn the theological and neurological basis for both cognitive and affective empathy; (2) learn seven disciplines that will enable them to deepen their capacity for empathy (Enlist all of your faculties; Move in physically, verbally and emotionally, Pray for discernment, Ask caring questions, Think deliberately, Help in meaningful ways, and Yield your convenience, price and resources); (3) explore practical ways that they can practice and apply these concepts in their marriages and with their children, with the staff, volunteers, directors and supporters of their Care Net Center, and, most importantly, with the women who walk through their Center doors longing for someone to demonstrate the kind of empathy, compassion and consolation that will help them to feel fully understood, to face and conquer their fears, and enable them to choose life instead of abortion.
