About this Event
Hosted by Ignite Well-being specifically for our local pride community and allies and held at The Conservation Foundation, this offering intends to facilitate relationships to self, to community, and to the earth, for improved, reciprocal, well-being of self, communities, and earth.
Each gathering will center social engagement, nature and/or relational education, and earth care, using the interdependence, mutuality, and multiplicity of ecology as a model for monthly topics chosen and the development of this group
We are queering ecology in that we are placing humans as participants in and in kinship with the natural world, as opposed to "just" observers. Further, we are centering pride community in this offering specifically as access to and connection with nature are scientifically shown to have so many health benefits that nature connection is a social justice issue.
Specifics for each month will be emailed to group participants approx 4-7 days prior to the event. Please note that November 2024 will be the last Care and Commune gathering for the year.
We will begin each session in the Clow building unless otherwise noted (the double story stone building). Please park in the designated, gravel parking area. Secondary to scheduling constrainst, please avoid contacting the event facilitator the day of with questions regarding the event. To ensure your spot, please register early.
This group is facilitated by a trained and certified sexuality educator and counselor, trained circle facilitator, and ecologist (MS). Questions about the event, including access needs?, please email the event facilitator.
Tickets are $7 (market value ~$35); this covers our rent of the space and event supplies.
Please kindly note: If a person has ordered a ticket and not cancelled their ticket prior to the event and has done this two times over 6 months, we will ask that the person refrain from registering for future events with us. This is for several reasons, including keeping tickets available to those that can make it and assisting the facilitator in managing their time (that was set aside from paid work to be available for this event). We love our community and wish to receive that love (in the form of time management) back.
